This Selmer USA Padless Alto Saxophone is in magnificent condition. The instrument is scratch free and dent free. This unique padless design was produced by Buescher for Selmer in the USA from 1938-41. We believe this one to be from 1939. Only 1200 were manufactured, making it one of the truly collectible saxophones.
Gladly all of the rubber seals are intact. Sadly, the rubber seals on the padless mechanisms are dry and quite hard. They no longer seal well enough to allow meaningful play.
One could confuse the finish for original, but we believe the lacquer was redone many years ago at the Selmer factory. Only they can do refinishing at this most high level, with all of the engraving remaining intact.
