Selmer Paris Series III Tenor Matte

New Instrument
An enhanced version of the lacquered Series III. This highly sought after special finish looks like extremely attractive matte gold plate but, is a finely wire brushed brass with a light protective coat of clear lacquer over it. This finish requires less heavy polishing than the standard lacquer finish and in fact we are told there is no residue resulting from the brush process. This leaves more metal on the horn according to the company. In addition the fine brush lines create a good deal more exposed brass surface area on the body of the horn. What ever the technical reason , in our judgment , as well as in the judgment of many celebrated players, (Charles Neville , Arnie Lawrence, John Laughter among a whole slew of other top drawer players), this finish definitely enhances the sound of the instruments. It has become the finish of choice.
