From 1964, this alto was assembled in France for European distribution. It has 90%+ of the original lacquer, a non-engraved bell and the original non-numbered neck. Typical of this model, it does not have "Mark VI" engraved or stamped on the instrument. As a player it will prove to be a versatile horn that features incredible projection with a focused sound. This alto is not a 'shrinking violet'. It could be the perfect horn to lead the section or to compliment a featured solo player. When you lay back a bit, blending into a section will be natural and effortless. A variety of mouthpieces can be well matched to this alto, making it well suited for legit, classical players, experimenters in the extreme avant-garde and of course for those of us who are somewhere in the middle that simply want a horn with great response and a big sound..
