  Manufactured in 1953. The body has been stripped, but there is lacquer remaining on the keys. Being a precursor to the Mark VI, these horns are known to have their own sonic characteristics and personality... the words "round" and "resonant" come to mind. The keyboard has a nice, delicate feel to it, with the right hand turned out. This modern style keyboard layout set the standard for saxophone ergonomics and followed through to the Mark VI. This horn has no problem with going from mellow to being pushed into overdrive.
